The name Salacia comes from Roman mythology, where she was revered as the goddess of saltwater, the calming balance to Neptune’s powerful currents. In much the same way, we bring harmony to bathroom design: blending practicality and aesthetics to create spaces that feel both functional and effortless.

Rather than focussing time and effort to sell online, we invite you to experience our products first-hand, guided by knowledgeable consultants who listen, advise, and thoughtfully tailor every detail to your needs.

Our team brings together designers, project specialists, operations experts and showroom consultants, each contributing their own skills, experience and personality to the Salacia way of working. Providing our clients calm, knowledgeable and consistent support from first conversation to final delivery.

Our History
Salacia’s journey began in 2012, long before the name existed, when our Managing Director, Ollie Streek, started selling discontinued sanitaryware from a small cellar in Maidstone. It was a simple idea - quality products and honest service, but it struck a chord. What began as a part-time venture grew quickly, fuelled by a commitment to doing things properly and building genuine relationships with customers.
As demand increased, the business moved to Wilsley Park Farm in Cranbrook in 2015. At that stage, everything was still online, and there were no plans for a showroom. But in 2016, something shifted. Customers wanted to see the products, understand the quality, and receive the kind of expert guidance you simply can’t get from a screen. Our first displays were installed, and with them came a more consultative, design-led approach.
By 2019, the business had evolved again, launching a dedicated contracts division to support developers, housebuilders and commercial clients with specification, estimating and supply. In 2020, we returned to the exact same site in Maidstone with a full retail showroom and trade counter - a space where homeowners, designers and tradespeople could explore products in person.
A decade in, it became clear that the business had outgrown its early identity. In 2024, we brought everything together under our new brand: Salacia, which better reflects our belief in exceptional service, design integrity and human connection. That same year, we made a significant decision to close the Maidstone branch and unify the business at our Cranbrook headquarters, allowing us to provide a more refined, consistent experience.
In 2025, we completed our final phase of transformation with the refurbishment of our ground floor showroom area. Today, every part of Salacia, retail, design, projects and support, sits under one roof, in a space that reflects who we are: Independent Experts in Bathroom Design.
The Salacia Timeline
2007
Ollie Streek starts selling taps on eBay whilst he probably should have been paying attention in Business Studies.
2012
Ollie took his eBay store full time and founded The Bathroom Seller, selling discontinued sanitaryware on eBay.
2015
Moved to Wilsley Park Farm, Cranbrook to support growth and began installing showroom displays due to increasing demand.
2019
Launched TBC Projects to serve commercial and contracts clients.
2020
Opened a retail showroom and trade counter in Maidstone.
2022
Celebrated our 10th anniversary!
2024
Closed Maidstone and united the entire business under one roof, rebranding as Salacia - and opened the fully refurbished Cranbrook showroom.
2025
Completed a full renovation of the downstairs showroom at Cranbrook showcasing local interior designers and leading bathroom manufacturers.
