Clearance Delivery & Returns Policy
1. Delivery Categories & Charges
1.1 Delivery charges depend on weight category and destination postcode.
Small Items (Up to 2kg)
- Service: Royal Mail Tracked 48 (2–3 working days)
Coverage:
- Mainland UK
- Northern Ireland
- Isle of Wight
- Scottish Highlands
Charge:
- As stated at checkout
No Highlands surcharge applies to items within this weight category.
Standard Items (2–20kg)
- Service: APC 48h Courier
- Mainland UK: £15
- Scottish Highlands & Islands: £95 (includes £80 surcharge)
Heavy Items (Over 20kg)
- Service: APC 48h Courier
- Mainland UK: £50
- Scottish Highlands & Islands: £130 (includes £80 surcharge)
1.2 Excluded Delivery Regions
The following regions are not eligible for courier delivery:
- Northern Ireland (BT postcodes) for items over 2kg
- Republic of Ireland
- Isle of Man (IM)
- Channel Islands (GY, JE)
- Isles of Scilly (TR21–TR25)
Orders placed for excluded regions may be cancelled and refunded.
1.3 Surcharge Regions
Scottish Highlands & Islands postcodes incur an £80 surcharge for items over 2kg.
The surcharge is included in the stated Highlands rate above.
1.4 Delivery Conditions
- Delivery is kerbside only for heavy goods.
- Customers must ensure suitable access.
- Failed delivery due to access restrictions may incur re-delivery charges.
- Risk passes upon delivery or collection.
- Damage must be reported within 24 hours with photographic evidence.
Where applicable, these charges will be confirmed at checkout.
2. Delivery Charges
2.1 Delivery charges are calculated at checkout or confirmed prior to dispatch.
2.2 Clearance items may carry specific delivery pricing depending on size, weight or courier method.
2.3 Large or palletised items may require kerbside delivery only.
3. Delivery Times
3.1 Delivery timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
3.2 Delays caused by couriers, weather conditions or access issues are outside the Company’s control.
3.3 The Company shall not be liable for consequential loss arising from delayed delivery.
4. Risk & Inspection
4.1 Risk passes to the Customer upon delivery or collection.
4.2 Customers must inspect goods immediately upon delivery.
4.3 Any visible damage must:
- Be noted on the delivery paperwork; and
- Be reported in writing within 24 hours to clearance@salacia.co.uk ;
4.4 Photographic evidence may be required.
4.5 Failure to report damage within 24 hours may invalidate claims with the courier.
5. Courier Damage
5.1 Where goods are confirmed as damaged in transit and reported in accordance with Clause 4:
- The Company will arrange replacement where possible; or
- Provide a refund where replacement is not available.
5.2 The Company is not responsible for damage occurring after delivery.
6. Collections
6.1 Customers collecting goods must inspect items prior to leaving the premises.
6.2 Once goods leave the premises, responsibility transfers to the Customer.
7. Returns – Distance Consumer Sales
7.1 Where a consumer purchases goods at a distance (including via Salacia.co.uk, telephone or eBay), they have the right to cancel within 14 days of delivery.
7.2 The Customer must notify the Company in writing within 14 days.
7.3 The Customer then has a further 14 days to return the goods.
7.4 The Customer is responsible for return postage costs unless the goods are faulty.
7.5 Goods must be returned in the same condition as supplied.
7.6 The Company may make a reasonable deduction for any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the goods.
8. Returns – eBay Purchases
8.1 For items purchased via eBay:
- Returns are accepted within 14 days;
- The buyer is responsible for return postage unless the item is faulty or not as described;
- eBay’s policies apply in addition to Salacia’s Terms.
