The Project
Set within the grounds of Pembroke House in Send, Surrey, Oak & Olive created three individual residences in the traditional Surrey vernacular, each with a considered balance of heritage character and contemporary family living.
Across each home, four distinct spaces - a cloakroom, master en-suite, guest bedroom en-suite and family bathroom - have been designed to complement the character of the property, rather than simply follow a standardised housebuilder specification.
Bespoke vanity furniture, quartz worktops and polished nickel brassware bring warmth and individuality to the spaces, while carefully selected baths, showers and wet room systems provide the practical performance expected of a modern home.
For a development of just three homes, the opportunity was to give every bathroom the same level of consideration as the wider interiors, creating spaces that feel cohesive, beautifully made and genuinely part of the architecture of each home.
The Brief
Oak & Olive's approach to development is rooted in detail, craftsmanship and quality. The bathrooms needed to meet that same standard.
The brief was to create a cohesive bathroom specification across all three homes, while giving each room enough individuality to feel designed rather than repeated.
From the statement master en-suites through to the smaller cloakrooms, every element needed to feel purposeful, combining premium sanitaryware and brassware with bespoke furniture, and wet room systems designed around the individual spaces.
Just as importantly, Oak & Olive needed a partner who could take responsibility for the specification and supply of the complete bathroom package, bringing together multiple specialist manufacturers without compromising on the detail.
Salacia's Role
Salacia was appointed to specify and supply all bathrooms across the three homes - 12 rooms in total.
Working from the architectural layouts, our team coordinated sanitaryware, brassware, bespoke joinery, quartz worktops, baths, showers and wet room systems, creating a specification that could be consistently delivered across the development while allowing each bathroom to respond to its individual layout.
The result is a bathroom specification that feels cohesive across Navigation Way without becoming repetitive.
For Oak & Olive, Salacia provided a single point of responsibility across the entire bathroom package, from initial specification through to the supply of the individual products and bespoke elements.
Our Solution
The specification brings together a carefully selected mix of Salacia's own bespoke products with curated items from top brands.
Salacia
- The master en-suites feature our bespoke reeded six-drawer Turnstone vanity units, while three drawer options were used within the guest bedroom en-suites and family bathrooms.
- These were paired with bespoke Lagoon Quartz worktops, including ogee-edged tops and carefully considered upstands, giving the furniture a more architectural, furniture-like quality.
- S20 undercounter basins were selected throughout the en-suites and family bathrooms.
- Wall-hung pans with soft-close seats were specified throughout, providing a clean, contemporary line across all 12 bathrooms.
- Wet room systems, linear drains and wall grills were specified for the en-suites, with the system and drainage components sized according to the individual layouts.
Vado
- The Booth & Co collection in Bright Nickel brings a traditional, tactile quality to the bathrooms.
- Crosshead wall-mounted basin mixers, freestanding bath shower mixers, concealed shower valves, exposed showering and carefully selected accessories were used throughout, giving the bathrooms a consistent brassware language.
Ashton & Bentley
- The Oceanus bath in Matt White provides a more sculptural centrepiece to the master en-suites.
Kaldewei
- Cayono baths were specified for the family bathrooms, alongside concealed leg sets and tileable bath panels to create a clean, integrated finish.
Majestic
- Monaco wetroom shower panels and polished nickel were specified with each panel sized to suit the individual room.
- Genoa frameless bath screens complete the family bathrooms.
TECE & Thomas Crapper
- Professional WC frames, with traditional lever flush controls and space-saving basin traps.
Vogue
- Ballerina electric towel rails were specified throughout, providing a consistent finishing detail across the development.
The Result
For this development, the bathrooms were designed to feel like an integral part of the home rather than a standardised specification applied from room to room. They deliver a clear sense of continuity, with bespoke details that make each bathroom feel completely individual.
The material choices and sculptural baths bring warmth and character to the spaces, while carefully coordinated wet room systems and concealed components ensure the design remains clean and considered.
For Oak & Olive, working with Salacia meant bringing the entire bathroom package together through one experienced specification and supply partner, coordinating multiple manufacturers, bespoke elements and technical systems across three individual homes.
The result is a collection of bathrooms that reflects the wider philosophy of Navigation Way: traditional character, contemporary living and an uncompromising attention to detail.
“Navigation Way is a small development, but the level of detail across the three homes meant that every specification decision mattered. Salacia understood the quality we were looking to achieve and worked with us to create bathrooms that feel considered, distinctive and completely in keeping with the homes. Having one team coordinate and supply across the entire project makes the process considerably more straightforward for us, which is why we use Salacia on every project.”
