The Project

This family home sits in a peaceful rural setting near Adisham, Canterbury. A Grade II listed farmhouse believed to date from the 17th century. The home pairs genuine period character with modern comforts, resulting in a luxurious country retreat that asks a lot of any specification brought into it.

The Brief

The idea for this bathroom began in our Cranbrook showroom. The client took inspiration from our showroom’s display which was created in partnership with SGS Design and they wanted to recreate something similar in their own home.

Salacia ensured that the same tonal warmth, the same materials and the same sense of quality the clients had seen and touched during their showroom visit, translated into their bathroom, sitting comfortably within the fabric of a 17th century farmhouse with its low ceilings, beams and structural inconsistencies.

Salacia’s Role

Salacia specified and supplied the bathroom package, using the showroom display as the reference point and visiting the customers home to check measurements and ensure the design would work within the room itself.

Our Solution

Brassware - Samuel Heath

Oriel Forme brassware in Old Brass Matt was specified throughout, including the shower kit, robe hook, flush plate and paper holder. Its detailing carries the warmth of the showroom original, with a finish built to hold its character over time.

Shower - Majestic

A Monaco shower screen in Weathered Gold provides the same soft, aged tone seen in the display bathroom. A CCL wetroom kit was specified for the shower area.

WC - Lefroy Brooks

A Lefroy Brooks WC was specified, chosen for its quality of construction and its suitability to the period character of the house.

Towel Rail — Vogue

A Vogue Ballerina towel rail was specified to complement the brassware.

Tiles — Ca’Pietra

Maroc Porcelain in Khaki was used throughout, giving the room its warm base tone.

The Results

What began as a showroom visit became a full specification: proof that seeing and touching a finished room can do more to shape a brief than any amount of description.

"We saw it in the showroom and knew we wanted the same for our own bathroom. Salacia made that happen, and made it feel completely at home in a listed farmhouse. Couldn't be happier."
