Taizu
By Victoria + Albert
Taizu is a circular freestanding bath by Victoria + Albert, created in collaboration with Hong Kong based designer Steve Leung and inspired by the fine porcelain of China's Song Dynasty. At 1500mm in diameter with gently sloping sides, a chamfered rim and sculpted base, it occupies a room as a statement object. QUARRYCAST construction carries a 25 year guarantee.
Taizu marks Victoria + Albert's first design collaboration, and Steve Leung's brief was clear: the ritual of bathing as a centrepiece, not an afterthought. The circular form at 1500mm diameter makes conventional bath positioning logic irrelevant. At 95kg empty, QUARRYCAST ensures the structure is as substantial as the form suggests.
